His Excellency Sheikh Tahiru B. Damba has urged the Black Stars to defeat Saudi Arabia in Tuesday's international friendly in Jeddah to appease the fans after their failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Ghana's ambassador to Saudi Arabia made these points when he visited the Black Stars at their team hotel on Tuesday afternoon to boost their condfidence ahead of the game.

Ghana's deputy sports minister Pius Enam Hadzide and Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi met Sheikh Damba on arrival with coach Kwesi Appiah and captain Daniel Amartey representing the technical team and playing body respectively.

Ghana's national team will continue their rebuilding efforts today when they take to the pitch to face next year's World Cup participants Saudi Arabia.

The Black Stars are in Jeddah to face the Asian giants in an international friendly that will serve as the start of coach Kwesi Appiah's efforts to augment the squad.

The Black Stars are seeking to make amends after they were held to a goalless draw by Uganda and Sheikh Damba said the player must face the Green Falcons with determination.

"We were expecting a lot from you from the match you played three days ago. A draw is (In Uganda) better than we defeat," Sheikh Damba said.

"Play this evening's match as if your life is ending today so that you can make yourselves and Ghana proud. Play your best game today. Everybody is watching to see how you would respond."

Saudi Arabia have booked their place in 2018 Fifa World Cup after missing out from 2010 and 2014 editions.
