Ampem Darkoa retain Women’s Super Cup

National Women's League (NWL) champions, have retained the Super Cup they won last season with a 1-0 win against Sanford FA champions, Prisons Ladies.

A goal from striker Princella Adubea on the 73rd minute helped the Techiman-based team to gain the trophy and the bragging rights over their northern and regional rivals, Sunyani-based Prisons Ladies.

Both having had the edge over the other in the competitions they won respectively, the Super Cup was meant to settle the score and yet again give the winners the bragging right ahead of the new season.

Before a good crowd at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park at Dormaa, it was the NWL champions who had that advantage as last season's top striker for both the NWL and the FA Cup, Adubea struck the winner.

Ampem Darkoa won the maiden edition last season when they beat then FA Cup champions, Police Ladies.
