Last Saturday Ghana faced off against their rivals the USA in Pratt & Whiney Stadium in Connecticut. Ghana lost 2-1 after an impressive first game from the USA’s Dom Dwyer.
Dom Dyer scored in the 20th minute after a defensive mistake to give the USA the lead.
Rashid Sumalia was taken off in the 38th minute with a knee injury and was replaced by Nicholas Opoku.
The Black stars had a penalty in the 45th minute but Asamoah Gyan could not get by the American goalkeeper Brad Guzan.
Kellyn Acosta scored in the 52nd minute from a free kick at the top of the box to extend the USA’s lead.
Asamoah Gyan scored an impressive free kick from a tight angle in the 59th minute to give Ghana one last push but sadly it wasn’t enough.
Overall, the Black Stars did not play to their full potential, they look to improve by their next game on the 28th of August, against Congo.
