Black Satellites advance to final stage of 2017 AYC qualifiers

The National U20 Male side have thrashed their Ethiopian counterparts 4-0 in their African Youth Championship qualifying game played at the New Cape Coast Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Yaw Yeboah bagged a brace as the Black Satellites cruised to a smooth win over the Ethiopians in the match which had to be rescheduled after being rained off on Sunday.

The Lille midfielder opened the scoring 6 minutes into the game before Asante Kotoko forward Dauda Mohammed added the second for the Ghana two minutes later.

After the break, Inter Allies winger Evans Mensah scored in the 57th minute to give Ghana a comfortable 3-0 lead over the Young Walias who had come into the game with a 2-1 advantage in the first leg played in Addis Ababa a fortnight ago.

Slippery midfielder Yaw Yeboah  scored his second goal of the day and Ghana’s 4th goal in the 75th minute to see Coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani’s side advance to the final stage of the AYC qualifiers with a 5-2 aggregate win.

The Black Satellites will face Senegal in the next stage of the qualifiers with the first leg scheduled to be played between July 8-10 in Dakar before the second leg which will be played in Ghana two weeks later.
