FA Boss, Stars coach visit Starlets ahead of qualifier

GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and Black Stars coach Avram Grant paid a visit to the National U-17 team during their training session on Thursday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

The Black Starlets are preparing to host Burkina Faso in the first leg match of the second round qualifier for the 2017 Africa U-17 Championship at Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday August 7.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin's side are determined to make it to next year's African U-17 tournament in Madagascar after missing out in the last edition.

Nyantakyi and Grant who were in Prampram on Thursday urged the youngsters go all out and bring back Ghana's glory days in U-17 tournaments.

The GFA president also encouraged the young players to approach their match against Burkina Faso with all seriousness.

"Our outfit will do all we can to support you and we are hoping that you scale over Burkina Faso, your next opponents, perform well in Africa and make it to the World Cup", the GFA President stated.

On his part, coach Avram Grant stated, "there is no doubt about that all the players here have talents but what you need to be successful, is passion. With passion and talent, you will be great and maybe even be playing for the Black Stars with me in five years.”

The Black Starlets will move camp to Cape Coast next week where they are expected to intensify preparations for their qualifying match against the Burkinabe.
