2023/24 Season: Real Tamale United face Hearts of Oak in opening fixture of the new season
Real Tamale United will open the 2023/24 Premier League season with a home game against Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Friday.
The home team will be coming into the season without their key players Stephen Badu Dankwa, Abdul Manaf Umar, Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed, Kwame Boakye, Roland Frimpong, Sadat Mohammed and Mathew Abayase.
Forward Issah Kuka is also back to Hearts of Oak after bringing to an end, a season long loan deal at RTU last season.
The Phobians are also going into the new season without Robert Addo Sowah, Caleb Amankwah, Junior Kaaba, Yassan Oatching, and Gladson Awako.
Since the return of Real Tamale United to the topflight in the 2021/22 season, they are yet to lose a game against Hearts of Oak in four games, winning three and drawing one.
The Northern giants have also won one and drawn one at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium against Hearts of Oak.
Hearts of Oak have made some marquee signings ahead of the season. They include centre back Kelvin Osei Asibey (Eleven Wonders) and Kofi Agbesimah (Bechem United).
The former Premier League Champions have also boosted their squad with Micheal Ampadu, Liventus Arthur, Martin Karikari and Rapheal Amponsah with the arrival of Martin Koopman as new head coach.
Real Tamale United will rely on new signings Christan Gyan from Pride of the North, Faisal Dauda from Kintampo Top Talent, Mohammed Abuu from Wa Suntaa and Abdul Aziz from Ebusua Dwarfs.
The game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 6pm.
