2024 Beach Soccer AFCON: Black Sharks join Title holders Senegal & other qualified teams

Ghana’s Black Sharks have joined seven other qualified teams that have all secured spots to compete in the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2024, set to take place in Egypt later this year.

The Black Sharks qualified for this year’s edition of the competition after defeating Côte d'Ivoire 5-3 in Keta and 5-2 in Abidjan in the return leg, securing a 10-5 aggregate win.

This year’s AFCON promises to be a thrilling spectacle, with fierce competition teams from teams from across Africa vying for the coveted title.

The other teams joining Ghana and hosts Egypt include defending Champions Senegal, Morocco, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania and debutants Mauritania, who defeated Nigeria in the qualifiers.

CAF is expected to conduct a draw to confirm the Group pairings for the competition with two teams from each Group set to advance to the semi-finals stage.

The two finalists to secure slots to participate in the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup which will be staged in Seychelles.

CAF is also expected to announce the date and fixtures for the tournament after the draw.
