2024 DOL SUPER CUP: Techiman Heroes strike late to share spoils with Basake Holy Stars in Group B clash

In a thrilling Group B encounter of the 2024 Division One League (DOL) Super Cup, Techiman Heroes managed to snatch a late equalizer, drawing 1-1 with Basake Holy Stars at the Nana Kronamansah Park on Tuesday.

Both clubs showcased resilience and great fighting spirit in the second group B match of the competition.

Basake Holy Stars took the lead in the 32nd minute, with Andrew Nana Cobbinah finding the back of the net to break the deadlock. The first half ended with Basake Holy Stars in control, leaving Techiman Heroes in need of a strategic realignment heading into the recess.

The second half saw both teams creating several scoring chances, but neither could capitalize on them. As the match neared its end, it seemed Basake Holy Stars would secure all three points.

However, Techiman Heroes had other plans. In additional time, substitute Muntala Issah Dinkon set up Kofi Danquah who scored a crucial equalizer, salvaging a point for his team.

Muntala's late goal and overall contribution, after coming off the bench, highlighted his impact on the game and earned him the Man of the Match award.

The 1-1 draw leaves Basake Holy Stars and Techiman Heroes with a point apiece, and both teams will undoubtedly look to build on their performances in the upcoming matches.

The DOL Super Cup will take a brief break on Wednesday, giving teams time to rest and regroup. The competition will resume on Thursday with more exciting action from Group A.
