President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku says the Football Association’s commitment to governance reforms and institutional excellence has strengthened Ghana football’s credibility on the continental and global stage.

Speaking at the 32nd Ordinary Session of Congress at the Association’s technical hub, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the GFA President said the reforms undertaken by the Association have earned the confidence of FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

“Our unwavering dedication has earned the confidence and admiration of both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA,” President Simeon-Okraku said.

“Today, Ghana football enjoys enhanced credibility on the continental and global stage, with our governance reforms and commitment to excellence increasingly recognised as a model worthy of emulation.”

The President said the recognition represents an important milestone for the Association but stressed that the progress made must serve as a platform for further transformation.

Building on the momentum

The President  identified the next 12 months as a critical period for consolidating the gains made and deepening the reforms already underway.

“The next twelve months present us with an important opportunity to build on this momentum,” he said.

“It is a time to deepen the reforms we have begun, consolidate the gains we have made, and accelerate our efforts to transform every facet of our game.”

The 32nd Congress, which brought together 124 delegates at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, therefore served as both an accountability platform and a statement of intent for the future.
