Two former Premier League sides Elmina Sharks FC and WAFA make the headlines in Zone two as they come face to face against each other on Matchday three of the Access Bank Division One League.
Both clubs suffered relegation from the top flight after finishing in the 17th and 18th in the 2021/22 Premier League standings. This season, they have not been overly impressive in the opening stage of the Division One League with WAFA yet to win a match this season while Sharks boasts of one win and one loss after two round of matches.
They began the season with a 2-1 win against Nzema Kotoko before losing by the same margin to Pacific Heroes last Sunday. The two clubs will lock horns at the Nduom Sports complex on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 3pm.
At Abrankese - Nations FC after losing to Ebusua Dwarfs in week two will welcome Skyy FC to the Dr. Kwame Kyei sports complex. Nations FC had a blistering start to the season following a 3-0 win over Swedru All Blacks on Matchday one but results didn’t go their way on Matchday two as they lost 2-0 to Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast.
They now have the chance to fight for their second win of the season whiles Skyy FC also chase for their second win of the campaign after losing to New Edubiase United last Sunday.
Elsewhere in Swedru – anticipate a derby between new boys Kenpong Football Academy and hot shot Swedru All Blacks. One point separates them as Kenpong Football Academy have won one and drawn one whiles Swedru All Blacks have won one game and lost one in their first two games.
