The Greater Accra Women's Division One League continued with excitement and drama in Match Week 5, as Oaks FC, the women's team of Accra Hearts of Oak, climbed to the top of Group A following a commanding 4-2 away victory against Teshie Constants Ladies FC.
The win secured their position at the summit of their group table with 12 points, marking a strong campaign thus far.
In other Group A fixtures, Rock Ladies delivered an impressive 2-0 home victory over Epiphany Ladies, asserting their presence in the competition. Accra Ladyz S.A. also had a fruitful outing, narrowly defeating La Ladies 2-1 in an away game.
Meanwhile, Basiktas Ladies showcased their attacking prowess with a 4-2 away win against Starlets Ladies FC.
G.R.A. Ladies, another strong contender in the group, have a game in hand and remain a potential threat to the standings.
Group B also provided plenty of action, although leaders Sissamba Ladies maintained their position at the top without playing a game this weekend.
Ridge City FC emerged as the dominant team of the week, thrashing Christ Angels Accra with a remarkable 6-1 home victory. African Golden Eagles secured an emphatic 3-0 win on the road against Zaafi Ladies, while Blessed Ladies proved their quality with a 3-0 home win over John Michaels.
Ideal Ladies capped off the week with a resounding 3-0 away triumph against Thunder Queens.
With the league heating up, the competition remains fierce across both groups, as teams battle for supremacy and a chance to cement their place in the history of the Greater Accra Women’s Division One League.
