Accra Lions will face Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium after going unbeaten in three League games in the ongoing campaign. They come up against a Asante Kotoko side that have yet to win a game in their first three outings, losing one match against Bibiani Gold Stars and drawing two home games against Heart of Lions (0-0) and (1-1) against Karela United.
This is the first time Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has gone three games with Asante Kotoko without a win after managing three consecutive wins in the 2021/22 season – when he won the League with the Porcupine Warriors.
Accra Lions are winless against Asante Kotoko at home following a 1-1 draw in the 2021/22 season and a 1-0 loss in the 2022/23 season.
Lions are unbeaten in their first three games of this season – their best start to the League since their debut campaign in 2021/22 when they lost their first two matches of the season.
Asante Kotoko have been boosted by the return of Augustine Agyapong, Richmond Opoku, Justice Blay and Nicholas Osei Bonsu. Richmond Lamptey, Serge Eric Zeze, Baba Yahaya, Steven Mukwala, Kalo Ouattara, Nanabayin Amoah, Sampson Asamoah and Henry Ansu are all available to selection as the Reds aim for their first win of the season.
Ibrahim Tanko has a fully fit squad going into the fixture with the likes of Abass Samari Salifu, Dominic Nsobila, David Oduro, Samuel Gyimah, Remember Adomako Boateng, Ali Mohammed, Abdul Shakun Abubakri and Bernald Kesse all available.
