David Addy is delighted to have scored on his debut for Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portuguese top flight last Friday.
The Ghana defender scored the winner for Guimaraes in their 1-0 win against Moreirense.
Addy also capped an impressive debut for his new club by being voted the man-of-the-match.
The left-back hopes he can continue to work hard and sustain his performance over the season.
"It was an encouraging start for me," Addy said about his maiden performance last Friday in the Portuguese league for Guimaraes.
"I need to continue working hard and must be able to sustain my performance. Putting in solid performances will really boost my confidence which I really, really need most at this level.
"But it's a long season and I need to work hard not for myself but for the team."
The 22-year-old joined Guimaraes from champions, FC Porto to secure regular playing time.
