Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has dedicated his sensational debut goal against Congo to teammate Michael Essien.
Essien, who made a return to the national team after a year's absence played alongside Agyemang-Badu as Ghana sealed a 3-1 win over Congo in an African Nations Cup qualifier on Friday.
The Udinese player capped a brilliant individual performance on the day when he chose the perfect way to give Essien something on his return with a spectacular 30 yard effort in the 78th minute of the game.
And Agyemang-Badu was happy to use his moment of magic as an ideal opportunity to welcome back Essien as he ran to the dug-out to embrace the Chelsea player.
"Before the game, I told Essien I was going to score and I wanted that to be for him. I dedicate the goal to Essien," Agyemang-Badu said.
"He's a great player to have by your side. He supports and gives me confidence."
"I am really happy to have scored. I have played here [Baba Yara Stadium] during my time with Asante Kotoko on many occasions and I know the fans would be happy too."
