Agyemang hopes for another run out

Opoku Agyemang is hoping to bag his third senior’s cap when the Black Stars play Sudan on Sunday in the African qualifying for the 2010 World Cup.

Despite the growing options for Milovan Rajevac, the Al Sadd player is hoping to secure a place in the third group D qualifier in Omdurman.

Agyemang was handed a starting berth for Ghana in the last game against Mali which the Black Stars won 2-0.

The former junior national team striker is one of the many players Rajevac can fall on and he is desirous to compete for a place in the coach’s plans for Sunday’s qualifier.

“I was happy when the coach named me as part of the first eleven. And it is prayers that keep me going,” Opoku Agyemang said.

“I need to continue working hard so I can secure a place in the team. Winning a place in the team doesn’t come easy. The team has lots of quality players who can play at any time.

“But I need to do my best to get myself selected.”

Opoku Agyemang is one of the 22 players named by Milovan Rajevac as Ghana prepares from from Naivasha, Kenya ahead of the game with Sudan.

The Black Stars lead the 2010 World Cup qualifying group D with six points, three ahead of second placed Benin.
