Gamba All Blacks are close to completing talks in Asia with Japanese kit manufacturers, Mizuno for a kit sponsorship.
Club CEO, George Afriyie (pictured, on the left) flies out of Accra today to round up talks with representatives of the kit firm.
The Black Magicians who enjoy good ties with the Japanese corporate community are close to agreeing a new kit deal with the largest apparel manufacturers in Japan.
According to George Afriyie, the deal with the kit giants aside giving Mizuno a good platform in Africa and especially Ghana, it would boost the clubs operations during training and match days as the huge budget on kits and equipment would be taken off the clubs books.
The CEO who would join the club’s new board chairman, Toshihiro Iwasa in Japan for the talks also says the discussions would be held on a possible Asia tour for Gamba All Blacks as they prepare for the new season.
But that tour is dependent on the start of the premier league.
“An Asian tour is on the cards but that would depend on the start of the league. We are still following the situation. If it becomes possible, we would go for the tour.
“We hope to build a strong team of 30 players for the coming season and already we have signed on some quality materials like Osei Bonsu from Liberty Professionals and Bofoakwa Tano’s Opoku Antwi,” George Afriyie said in an interview with ghanaleague.com.
Gamba All Blacks are seeking to improve on their position this season after finishing 11th on the 16-club table.
Meanwhile, the club over the weekend received a donation of ten training balls plus a match ball from former national team coach, Frederick Osam Duodo.
