Amidaus Professionals' hopes of surging away from the relegation received a major boost on Friday as they won the Tema derby over Inter Allies in the First Capital Plus Premier League.
Sitting just one point adrift the bottom three before kick-off of the match-day-17 fixture, Amidaus beat the premiership debutants 2-0 at the Tema Stadium to move up the log.
A goal apiece in either half handed Amidaus all the derby spoils and the bragging rights.
Nana Poku scored the opener on the stroke of half-time to give his side a one-nil lead going into the break.
The with ten minutes remaining to end the match, Isaac Ofori put the game beyond Inter Allies when he added the second goal.
The defeat, the 12th suffered by Inter Allies leaves them rooted at the foot of the log with 12 points though they have a game in hand.
