Ghana and WAFU B Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies kicked start their CAF Women’s Champions league campaign with a stellar win over defending champions AS FAR Club on Monday evening.

In a very topsy turvy encounter, AS FAR Club was looking for a quick opening in the beginning which became a reality in the 15th minute when Najat Badri fired them in front.

Tracey Twum came close few minutes later but her efforts went wide in the 45th minute.

Joe Nana Adarkwa made a substitution in the second half, where Mary Amponsah came in for Maybel Amoyaw.

Comfort Yeboah pulled parity in the 56th after Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah’s corner kick was kicked away temporarily as she latched on the rebound for the equalizer.

The defensive stalwart came to the party few minutes later with her second goal inside 62 minutes to put the Ghana champions in front.

After 8 minutes of additional time, Ampem Darkoa emerged winners and the result takes them to the top of Group B with 3 points.

Comfort Yeboah was named player of the match after delivering those two quick goals.

The team will now face AS Mande on Thursday 8:00pm at the Stade Laurent Pokou in the second group game.
