Andre Ayew has been named on the final three-man shortlist for the Player of the Year 2011, the Confederation of African Football announced today.

The Ghana international together with Seydou Keita of Mali and Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast would be vying for the award to be decided at the Awards Gala which will be held on Thursday, December 22 at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra

Andre, 22, was last Friday voted BBC African Football of the Year ahead of Toure and Keita.

This is the third time that Accra will be staging the event as the awards, sponsored by telecommunication company, Glo Mobile, rewards sports personalities from the continent for the year under review.
