Anthony Annan has now been confirmed eligible to play in Ghana’s next game in the qualifying for the joint 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup competitions.
The midfielder was earlier reported suspended due to picking two bookings by Fifa’s own match statistics of players.
But Fifa match report on the Sudan-Ghana match last Saturday has clarified that Annan is eligible to selection by Ghana.
The post-match statistics now claims that Sudanese defender Tarig Kafi was rather booked in the 25th minute by Libyan referee Ambaya Jamel instead of Annan.
Annan has played every minute of all the nine qualifying matches till date and will now be available for a place in the team when the Black Stars welcome the Sudanese in the reverse game at home on September 5 when qualifiers resume.
Ghana have 9 points from three matches, five points clear of their closest rivals in Group D, Mali.
