Kwesi Appiah has revealed Anthony Annan could make an early return to training for Ghana after picking an injury against Egypt on Thursday.
The midfielder was withdrawn after 25 minutes into the start of the pre-Nations Cup warm up match at the Zayed Sports Complex in Abu Dhabi against the Pharaohs after landing awkwardly following a tackle.
He replaced by Derek Boateng.
But minutes after the game which Ghana won 3-0, the Black Stars coach confirmed that Annan's ankle problem was not too serious as feared initially.
"It's not that big," Kwesi Appiah told the press in a post game interview about Annan's injury.
"He didn't land well but according to the doctor, it's not a big deal. He should be up training tomorrow[Friday] or the next day."
Annan will be making his fourth Africa Cup of Nations appearance when Ghana start their in Group B against DR Congo, Mali and Niger.
