Players of the senior men's national team have been encouraged to get a good first leg result against Egypt in the World Cup qualifying playoff on Tuesday.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Friday tasked the Black Stars to ensure victory but reminded them of the need not to get complacent since the Pharaohs have the edge in head-to-head results.

Ghana, chasing a third appearance at the finals will host the Pharaohs at the Baba Yara Stadium in a tie between two giants of African football.

"Egypt is our last hurdle. We need victory and if there is any hurdle, we have to beat them", the Asantehene said at his Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Before the Black Stars departed the Palace of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the King left them with a parting message: "the soul of this country is in your hands."

The return leg is expected to come off in Cairo on November 19 as the aggregate winner qualifies for next year's finals in Brazil.
