League leaders Ashantigold secured a slim victory over Liberty Professionals in their Match day 25 game in Obuasi on Sunday.

The Miners missed an opportunity to go into the lead when Yakubu Mohammed missed an 18th minute penalty but Emmanuel Osei made amends in the 65th minute.

Ashantigold have therefore maintained their three point lead as they seek to win the league at the end of the season.

Liberty Professionals are also lying 10th and could confirm their stay in the Premier League if they manage to secure a couple of wins.

In Sekondi, Hasaacas moved to 7th place of First Capital Plus Premier League table with 36points after their 1-1 draw with Accra Great Olympics on Sunday.

Kwame Boateng gave Olympics the lead before Kojo Poku equalized in the second half.
