BA United FC have been charged on two counts of misconduct in respect of their First Capital Premier League match against Medeama SC played at the Coronation Park on June 7, 2015.
That at the half time of the said match, when the match official were about to go for their dressing room, BA United failed to control its supporters when they rushed and invaded the path to the dressing room and attempted to assault the match officials resulting in their being held hostage for about five (5) minutes on the field of play before the police personnel could shield them to the dressing room contrary to the GFA Regulations.
The club has hereby charged for a breach of Articles 56, 58 and 59 of the Disciplinary Code and Article 35(1)(a), 35(3)(c), 35(4) and 35(10) the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.
Also, after the final whistle of the match, the club failed to control their supporters when they attempted to assault the match officials resulting in the hold up of match officials in the dressing room for about forty-five (45) minutes until the police personnel called in re-enforcement to drive the match officials out of the park in the police vehicle to the Sunyani Police Station contrary to the GFA Regulations.
The Club has therefore been charged on a second count for a breach of Articles 56, 58 and 59 of the Disciplinary Code and Article 35(1)(a), 35(3)(c), 35(4) and 35(10) the GFA General Regulations in respect of this match.
BA United is expected to submit their written Statement of Defence to the charge(s) on or before Tuesday, June 23, 2015 on or before 5pm at the GFA Secretariat or through email address to the Disciplinary Committee dc@ghanafa.org, failing which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case without the Statement of Defence.
Should the Club choose Defence Options 3 (Personal Hearing) in the Statement of Defence, they will attend the Disciplinary Committee on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 4pm at the GFA Secretariat to answer to the charge(s), failure which the Disciplinary Committee shall proceed to adjudicate the case in their absence.
