betPawa, a leading mobile Sports gaming brand, as part of its investment into grassroots football development in Ghana, has teamed up with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to donate essential sporting equipment to four selected football clubs.

The initiative, part of betPawa’s ongoing investment in local football development, was held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Bantama Astro Turf in Kumasi.

In attendance were officials  of the GFA, management and players from the selected clubs, as well as the media.

Clubs receiving the donations include Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Kumasi Sports Academy, both women’s teams, and men’s Division 2 clubs Great Corinthians FC and MVP Academy.

Each team received a comprehensive package comprising 20 footballs, home and away kits, 20 football boots, three goalkeeper gloves, 30 training bibs, two football pumps, two goalpost nets, a set of training cones, and a first aid kit. This equipment aims to enhance training and matchday experiences, fostering the growth of football talent across the country.

In addition to the sports kits, betPawa also donated 20 mattresses to Ampem Darkoa Ladies. This gesture comes as part of ongoing efforts to support the team, whose hostel facility was ravaged by a fire in December 2023. The donation is expected to provide a critical boost as the team rebuilds its accommodation.

betPawa’s commitment to the holistic development of Ghanaian football extends beyond equipment donations.

The company recently commissioned a 3,000-capacity playing field at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. Its flagship Locker Room Bonus initiative continues to reward Ghana Premier League players with a GH₵400 bonus for each match they win, a programme now set to include Women’s FA Cup teams from the round of 16 in January 2025.
