Black Queens confident of Burkinabe result

Ghana remains very confident of getting a positive result against Burkina Faso in the qualifying for the 2014 Africa Women’s Championship.

The Black Queens will depart for Ouagadougou for the first-leg tie of the first round on Wednesday after having camped in Tamale ahead of the game on Saturday.

Yussif Basigi, coach of the team says he is very satisfied with the level of preparation after his team completed their week-long acclimatisation exercise in Tamale, where the weather is similar to the current climatic conditions in Ouagadougou.

"I am very satisfied with the work we have done since we got to camp last year," Basigi said.

"The team has prepared well and I pray the hardwork put in by the ladies gets the needed results."

Basigi is determined to return Ghana to Africa’s flagship women’s football tournament after the Black Queens who for the first time missed out of the tournament in 2012 since the inception of the biennial championship in 1998.

"It will be a big game but we have to be up for the task and ensure that we achieve out goal towards playing at the Championship," the Ghana coach said.

Ghana will host the return fixture between 28 February - 2 March 2014.
