Black Satellites warm-up for U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with Four-Nation Tournament in Morocco
The Black Satellites are set to participate in a 4-Nation tournament in Morocco from March 17-25, as part of their preparations for the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D'Ivoire.
This tournament will provide the technical team with an opportunity to further assess the players as they test their strength against top-notch teams on the continent, ahead of the African Youth Championship.
As part of their build-up, the Black Satellites have been engaging in friendly matches against some Premier League clubs, including Accra Hearts of Oak, Nations FC, Heart of Lions, and other lower-tier sides in Accra. The 4-Nation tournament will feature Morocco, Ghana, and two other teams.
Ghana have been paired in Group A alongside host Cote D'Ivoire, Tanzania, DR Congo, and one team from the Central African Football Federations Union (UNIFAC) for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament runs from Saturday, April 26 to Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Ghana has won the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations four times: in 1993, 1999, 2009, and 2021 and are considered one of the powerhouses in African youth football, having also won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt in 2009.
