Ghana's hopes in the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations took another hit as the national team suffered a 5-2 defeat to Morocco on Day 3 of the tournament.

This loss follows a tough opening match against Egypt, where Ghana fell 6-3, leaving the team with a challenging path ahead.

The match against Morocco saw Ghana struggle to keep pace with their North African rivals, who capitalized on defensive lapses and showcased a clinical attacking performance.

Despite a strong start to the game, Ghana succumbed to two quick goals before pulling one back in the second period.

The Moroccans however maintained control throughout the match and stretched their lead to 4-1 before Alexander Adjei scored Ghana’s second goal of the day and his fourth in the tournament.

The Moroccans scored their fifth goal inside the final period to take the game out of Ghana’s reach.

Head Coach Daniel Neequaye expressed disappointment over the team's performance but remained optimistic about their upcoming clash with Tanzania. "We need to regroup and focus on our last match. The players have talent; we just need to refine our strategy and execution," he stated in his post match comments.

As Ghana prepares to face Tanzania in their final Group A match, the team is determined to end the group stage of the tournament on a high note. With both teams searching for their first points, the upcoming showdown promises to be a crucial encounter for both sides.

The match against Tanzania is set for Tuesday October 22, 2024 at 12noon (9:00 GMT), and all eyes will be on Ghana’s Black Sharks as they aim for redemption on the sand.
