Ghana have moved one place up in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released Wednesday for the month of August.

The Black Stars are now placed 32nd on the overall table but their point accumulation still stood at 707 points.

Little changes occurred but more movement can be expected in the September edition, with the inclusion of the many friendlies due to be played on 15 August.

The Black Stars who are angling for a fifth African Nations Cup are still the continent’s second best side behind Ivory Coast. Algeria and Libya follow in third and fourth positions.

European champions, Spain remained tops with Germany second and England jumping third on the world ranking table.

According to FIFA, the results of 12 matches were taken into account for the current edition of the ranking which welcomed a newcomer to the fold.

South Sudan, who became FIFA’s 209th member at the 2012 Congress in Budapest, played their first official international last month and their 2-2 draw with Uganda was worth 20 ranking points, handing them their debut in 199th place.
