Black Stars still dominates Africa

Ghana, for the sixth month running continue to stay on as Africa's highest ranked team with the May edition of the Fifa/Coca-Cola World ranking revealing little changes on the log.

From December 2010 till date, the Black Stars still sit tops of the African table and have been the best ranked side from the continent in the overall rankings.

The Black Stars are still positioned 15th in the world rankings, receiving no points to up their placing on the table.

Ghana still holds onto now its 931 points and are the only side from the continent in the top 20.

Ivory Coast still stay second with Egypt in third in the continental ranking.

Africa has nine countries in the in the top 50 while UEFA continues to be the best-represented confederation with 29 teams with CONMEBOL (6), the AFC (4), CONCACAF (3) and the OFC (0).

According to Fifa, only seven international 'A' matches, all of them friendlies, have been played since the previous edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Consequently, there have not been any changes among the leading pack.

Spain, the world's best ranked side and the Netherlands continue to set the pace, some distance ahead of Brazil, Germany and Argentina.
