CAF approves the Ghana Football Association's request to honour Ghana's late President John Evans Atta Mills when they play in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi.

Ghana plays Malawi on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg fixture of the final round stage.

Black Stars players will wear black armbands during the game as a mark of respect for the late President Mills who passed away in July.

"We thank CAF for approving the GFA's request to honour President Mills during Saturday's match against Malawi," GFA spokesman, Ibrahim Sannie said.

"The players will be wearing black armbands in our match."

This is the first time the Black Stars are playing at home since the country's leader died on 24 July.

President Mills was once the chairman of the Black Stars management committee.
