Italian club Catania have shown interest in signing on Stephen Appiah subject to the Ghana captain proving his fitness.
Appiah, has been without a club since leaving Fenerbahce over a year ago but has stayed active ever since, having led Ghana to another World Cup qualification.
Catania general manager Pietro Lo Monaco is certain the 28-year-old still has the technical quality to succeed in Serie A after spells with Tottenham Hotspur and Rubin Kazan all fell through.
"Appiah? Of course, if he's [physically] good we would buy him at once," Lo Monaco told Itasportpress.
"He would not only be a good signing for Catania, but I think he could still play for any of the other 19 teams in Serie A.
"I don't know how he is now and if he has overcome his physical problems but I can say with certainty that Appiah is a great talent."
