As the Elite U15 Boys Championship prepares for kick-off at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram, a group of young referees from the "Catch Them Young" Refereeing Policy have expressed their readiness to officiate the tournament. The championship is set to begin on Thursday, featuring youth teams from across the country.

During the orientation session for the regional teams, Referees Manager Alex Kotey addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of the young referees in ensuring a smooth and fair competition.

Speaking on behalf of the young referees, Kotey highlighted their enthusiasm and preparedness for the task ahead. He reassured the participating teams and stakeholders that the young referees have been well-trained and are eager to showcase their skills during the championship.

“Our ‘Catch Them Young’ referees have undergone rigorous training in preparation for this tournament. They are ready to deliver high standards of officiating and contribute to the success of the Elite U15 Boys Championship,” Kotey stated.

He also emphasized the need to pardon the young officials if they make mistakes, adding that coaches and players must be patient for the young referees to develop since they are also learning just like the young players.

The "Catch Them Young" Refereeing Policy, initiated by the Association, aims to identify and nurture young refereeing talents across the country. By involving them in competitions like the Elite U15 Boys Championship, the program provides these budding referees with valuable experience and exposure to the demands of officiating competitive matches.
