Central RFA holds successful Ordinary Congress

The Central Regional Football Association (RFA) held its Ordinary Congress on Wednesday October 16, 2024,  at the Oguaa Teacher’s Credit Union at Bakano in Cape Coast.

The Congress, chaired by Central RFA boss, Robert Otieku Duncan,  also brought together key stakeholders, including club representatives, District FA chairmen, Referees and other affiliate bodies.

GFA Executive Council member, Eugene Nobel Noel represented the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.

In his address to Congress, Chairman Robert Otieku Duncan underscored the significant strides made by his administration in the development of the game in the year under review.

"The year under review saw many increased participation from the juvenile through division 3 to division 2 and women football clubs. I wish to applaud the District Referees Managers for a very good work done. Again, your commitment in training and improving the Catch Them young Referees is yielding results and I urge you to continue the push." he said

Speaking on behalf of the GFA President,  Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, Executive Council member, Eugene Nobel Noel pledged the FA's continued support for the RFAs in the area of officiating fees, logistics, Subvention, monthly allowances for RFA Chairmen, their Vice Chairman, Referees Managers amongst others.

He indicated that the GFA has invested heavily in capacity building at the grassroots level, urging the regional block to commence the mandatory Girls U-13, U-15 and U17 leagues in the district.

The Congress deliberated on essential matters that impact regional football, including administrative, developmental, and financial aspects.

The annual gathering also focused on providing a blueprint for organising and executing various competitions across all levels.

These include youth football, women's football, and grassroots initiatives, all aimed at enhancing football development in the Central Region.
