Charlton Athletic boss Phil Parkinson says he is happy to keep Ghana international, Chris Dickson after Gillingham made a bid for the striker.
Dickson enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Priestfield two seasons ago and has been the subject of an offer from the Gills.
Gillingham's offer for the Ghana international has been described as below Dickson's valuation with Charlton not actively seeking to offload the 24-year-old.
"Chris has come back in pre-season and he's been fighting for his place," Parkinson told the South London Press.
"He's been working hard and we don't want any of our players to leave.
"Gillingham have made several enquiries about Chris but, even if we were thinking about selling, they are a long way off our valuation of him."
Meanwhile, Gillingham have admitted that they would be unable to increase their bid for the Ghana international.
Chris Dickson is yet to hold down a regular position in Ghana's male senior team, the Black Stars, who are seeking qualification to the 2010 World Cup finals.
