Chelsea dump Techiman City out of Premier League

Berekum Chelsea have dumped Techiman City out of the Ghana Premier League after an emphatic final day win in Berekum.

In a final relegation quagmire involving about five clubs, Chelsea were level on 37 points with Techiman City and they needed victory to ensure safety, while the least needed a point to entertain any hope of survival.

However, it was Chelsea who survived and they did it in style, easily dismissing their opponents with an emphatic 4:0 drubbing.

Eric Ametepe set the tone for the great escape mission when he he gave Chelsea an early lead in the 4th minute before Stephen Owusu doubled the lead in the 46th minute.

Nana Tei Horsu made it 3:0 Stephen Amankonah hammered the final nail, to cut short Techiman City's one season stint with the elite division.

In Dorma, Inter Allies, who went into their match against Aduana Stars with their relegation Premiership status hanging by a thread, battled to priceless 1:1 draw with Aduana Stars to avoid the drop.

Prince Baffoe opened the scoring for Inter Allies in the 7th minute but Bright Adjei equalised to give Aduana some relegation scare. Inter Allies however held on to retain their Premiership status by a whisker.

In Dansoman, Latif Blessing was in sensational form as his final day hat trick rescued Liberty Professionals from trouble. They defeated Bechem United 3:1 with Abednego Tetteh getting a consolation goal for Bechem United.

Dwarfs also survived relegation with a 2:0 win over Dreams FC in Dawu. Stephen Bentil and Amoah Mensah were the goal scorers.

Asante Kotoko defeated WAFA 2:1 in Kumasi, with Ofori Benet and Kwesi Nti scoring for the Porcupine Warriors while, Charles Boateng was on target for WAFA. 

In Bekwai, Hearts of Oak ca,e from a goal down to beat relegated New Edubiase 3:1. Abdul Wahab put Edubiase ahead but Hearts hit back, scoring three goals within 5 minutes.

Patrick Razak equalised in the 75th minute and Cosmos Dauda hit a three-minute brace to seal the win for Hearts.

Cosmos Dauda would have grabbed a hat trick had he not missed a penalty before his brace.
