Champions League debutants Berekum Chelsea are excited to challenge for continental glory as they face a tricky first leg preliminary game on Sunday.

Chelsea make the trip for their eagerly-anticipated first appearance in Africa's flagship club competition as they play away to Liberian side, LISCR FC.

Hans Van der Plyum's side on Thursday beat the national U-20 team 1-0 a test game at the Tema Park to build up for the game at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

President of the club, Emmanuel Kyeremeh, is hopeful of a great debut.

“I believe in my team and will do everything humanly possible to see them get there,” he said.

Chelsea are second on the Ghanaian league standings, three points off the top as the second round of the competition resumes this weekend.
