Berekum Chelsea's title defence took a big blow following a 3-1 defeat to Tema Youth on Sunday in the Glo Premier League.

The champions, who are involved in the African Champions League competition are 16 points off the summit with five games to go.

Both sides were 1-1 apiece going into the interval at the Tema Park after Isaac Amoah opened the scoring for the home team before Joseph Ato-Bissah equalised for the champions on the stroke of halftime.

Tema Youth increased their tally after the break when Daniel Appiah connected a cross in the 64th minute.

Amoah grabbed a brace on the stroke of full-time when he scored to put the game beyond Chelsea.
