Coach Odoi charged with misconduct

The Disciplinary Committee of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association has invited the head coach of Prince United, Mohammed Odoi to answer charges of misconduct and violence.

Also joining charged with Odoi are three of his players: Christian Mensah, Daniel Mensah and Ahmed Biney Nasir as they are to attend the Disciplinary Committee’s sitting on Friday, March 23, 2012.

According to a letter signed by the Chairman of the Committee, the charges of misconduct and violence relates to the match between Prince United and Rot Weiss F.C. played at the Okwahu Park, Darkuman on January 20, 2011.

“You are hereby charged with misconduct and violence for a breach of Articles 35(1), 35(2), 39(7)(a) and 39(7)(b) of the GFA Regulations in respect of this fixture. It is alleged that immediately referee Abrahim Jackson whistled for the end of the match, you rushed to the field of play and physically assaulted and abuse and used insulting words and behaviour towards the match officials. The referees had to be rescued to the Darkuman Police Station in a taxi requiring medical care. It is alleged that your behavour resulted in the referees losing their Two (2) flags, Fox 40 Whistle and Caution Cards of the match officials,” the letter stated.

The second charge against the coach and his three players included a threat of harm and future harm to the referees when they threatened to visit and deal with the referees at their homes.

Meanwhile, the Disciplinary Committee in similar letters have invited the following persons to attend their sitting this Friday to show cause why they should not be sanctioned for various acts of misconduct in their respective matches:

3. Solomon Brown – Coach of A.C. Sondisco, Tema

4. Joe Dowuona – Coach of Ghana Post Ladies FC

5. Joe Quartey – Manager of Ghana Post Ladies FC

6. Sheila Okine – Player of Ghana Post Ladies FC

7. Acquah Daniel - Goal Keeper of Accra Youth SC

8. Seth Dogbe - Chairman of Super Stars

9. Eliasu Atakora – Director of Al-Sadd SC
