In the bid to ensure transparency and fairness in the game, the Association, through the Integrity Unit, organised an extensive integrity training for the Match Commissioners of the Division One League.
The event, which took place at the headquarters, emphasized on the various forms of match fixing and match manipulation tactics deployed by individuals engaged in such acts.
Commissioners were trained on how to identify perpetrators and different methods of match manipulation in order to safeguard the game and maintain fair competition on the field.
At the training, commissions were also urged to report any suspicion of foul play or manipulation regardless of whether they are backed by evidence.
Additionally, commissioners were oriented on how to use the various mediums made available to them to report any concerns of match fixing or manipulation which will lead aid in further investigations.
The training reaffirms the FA’s stance on eliminating corruption from the game and reigniting the passion the fans have for the league.
