After playing more than hour with a man down, New Edubiase could revel in their performance as they reach the finals of the MTN FA Cup.

New Edubiase beat Wassaman 1-0 on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Substitute Emmanuel Nti Mensah scored the decisive goal in the second half against relegated Premiership side, Wassaman to take their place against AshantiGold on July 29 in the finals.

With semi-finals often swayed by some errors, the sending off of Nartey Polo in the 32nd minute left the Bekwai-side short numerically but it failed to determine the outcome of the fixture.

But back from recess, they were able to hold a spirited Wassaman side who were eager to reach the finals to make up for their demotion to the second-tier division.

The game appeared to heading for extra-time when Nti Mensah settled matters run onto a Moro Ibrahim to tap past the on-rushing Wassaman goalkeeper Alex Tetteh.

After the goal, Wassaman had an additional five minutes to draw level and possibly win the tie but Edubiase's backline proved too solid to break down.

The winner of next week's game will represent Ghana at the next CAF Confederation Cup competition.
