The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has extended the mandate of the Interim Management Committee of the Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) for the next three months.
A five-member IMC were elected into office in May 2012 to steer the affairs of the game in the region for three months, which ends 10th August, 2012.
Ahead of the expiration of their mandate, the Ex.Co has granted the IMC, chaired by Abubakar Briamah an extension and charged his team to successfully manage all issues to prepare the grounds for election of substantive executives.
"The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association has extended the mandate of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Eastern Regional Football Association for another three (3) months.
"The earlier mandate ends on 10th August, 2012 and the new mandate will end on 10th November, 2012.
"The I.M.C. is hereby requested to sort out the various issues confronting the region and make arrangements for elections for the Chairman and Executive Committee of the Association within the mandate period," a GFA statement said.
