The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) held a meeting with the Chairmen of the 10 Regional Football Associations, on Wednesday, 27th November, 2024, to review regional football activities.
During the meeting, all 10 Regional FA Chairmen reported successfully holding their respective Regional Congresses, which were well-attended and had representations from the GFA Executive Council.
The Congresses reviewed the just-ended season and outlined plans and programs for the 2024-25 football season. The Chairmen also reported on the progress of their respective regional leagues.
Notably, all regions have successfully started the Division Two and Women's Division One Leagues. Seven out of the 10 regions have also commenced the Division Three leagues and Colts programs in their districts.
The meeting discussed teething challenges with adherence to time schedules for the Division Three league in some regions. The GFA Executive Council and the Regional FA Chairmen agreed to work together to address these challenges.
This meeting was held in line with a previous decision of the ExCo to meet frequently and regularly with the RFA Chairmen so as to facilitate seamless flow of relevant information from the ExCo to the regions and also to enable RFA Chairmen to provide timeous information to the ExCo and receive real-time feedback.
