Ladystrikers drew 1-1 with regional rivals Soccer Intellectuals to end the first round of the Malta Guinness Women's Premier League on a patchy note.
After a barren first half, Soccer Intellectuals drew first blood through Martha Gifty Amissah in the 53rd minute.
The striker, pounced on a cross from the right side to tap home for the opener.
Mariam Olawumi Abdulkabir took advantage of a defensive error to plant home the equalizer three minutes later.
Ladystrikers pushed harder for a second, but failed in their attempts as the game ended 1-1.

Former Champions Hasaacas Ladies left it late to snatch a point in their final home game of the first round against Faith Ladies. The two unbeaten sides started on a very competitive note with high exchanges as both teams wanted to get the opener but their efforts fell flat as the first half ended goalless.
Alice Longdon had a free kick deflecting into the net for the opener inside 58 minutes. The Doo Ladies mounted pressure for the equalizer and fibally won a penaty that was expertly pit away by Firdous Yakubu.
Mukarama Abdulai was fouled in the 18 yard box and Fidous Yakubu made no mistake as she converted to give the home side the equaliser in the 95th minute.
