Faith Ladies kept their title aspirations on course with a 1-0 win over Northern Ladies in their second game in the ongoing Women's League Super Cup at Kyebi.
The defending champions had Emmanuella Johnson to thank for the only goal of the match as she fired home from close-range to give them all the spoils.
Northern Ladies were in full control but failed to take their chances as the first half ended goalless. Both sides came back from the break looking to outdo the other but Faith Ladies got their tails up through Johnson as she pounced on a melee to steer the ball over the line in the 69th minute after Northern Ladies had failed to deal with Matilda Damoah's corner kick.
Northern Ladies created some chances later on but the defence of Faith Ladies was on hand to deal with the onslaught as the game ended 1-0 in favour of the defending champions.
Faith Ladies are unbeaten and sit on top of Group A with six points after a brilliant start to the competition.
The second game scheduled for 3:00pm will be between League Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Army Ladies.
