The International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) has selected three General Secretaries across the African continent to be a part of the expert team in contributing and playing vital roles in developing the FIFA General Secretary Handbook.
The selected Member Association General Secretaries include Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.) of the Ghana Football Association, Frederick Mngomezulu, Chief Executive Officer of the Eswatini Football Association and Mr. Edgar Watson Suubi, Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Football Federation.
The FIFA GS Handbook when completed will serve a very useful resource book for new General Secretary and also provide priceless templates and work tools for occupiers of the most challenging job role - General Secretary role- in Member Associations.
Some of the key functional areas to which these experts will be required to share knowledge on includes the Managing the Role – which focuses on the skills and knowledge required to do the job.
Another ley area is managing the staff and organization which focuses on the structure and people-related processes inside an Member Associations and managing stakeholders – both inside and outside of the football family.
The relevant areas also include Appendices which contains a variety of practical tools and templates for the General Secretary to use on a day to day basis and FIFA information which provides useful information and links to key FIFA strategies and documents.
