The Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions sit on top of Group A and B respectively in the ongoing Elite U15 Girls Championship after Match Day 1.
The Ashanti Region leads Group A with 3 points after their opening day 2-0 win over Eastern Region followed by Northern Region who have 2 points from a game.
Per the rules of engagement of the championship, penalty shootouts are played after a draw and the winner of the shootouts awarded 2 points with the loser getting a point.
As a result, the Upper East Region follows in 3rd position on the table after the 6-5 penalty shootout loss to the Northern Region.
Eastern Region and Western Region follow in 4th and 5th position respectively with no point.
In Group B, Brong Ahafo Region sit on top with 3 points following their 3-1 win over Volta Region while Greater Accra follow in 2nd position, also with 3 points.
Upper West, Volta and Central Regions follow in 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively on the table.
The second group games will be played on Wednesday at the Ghanaman Soccer Center OF Excellence as the young girls keep exhibiting their talents.
