FIFA TDS: Ashanti, Greater Accra Lead Groups After Match Day 1 in Elite U15 Boys Championship

The FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) Elite U15 Boys Championship at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) has kicked off with intense competition, as Ashanti Region and Greater Accra Region emerged as early leaders in their respective groups after Match Day 1.

Group A Standings: Ashanti Region Leads the Pack

Ashanti Region currently tops Group A with 3 points after their commanding 3-0 victory over Eastern Region. They are closely followed by Northern Region, also on 3 points, who secured a narrow 3-2 win against Upper East Region in a thrilling encounter. Upper East Region and Eastern Region occupy the 3rd and 4th positions, respectively, while Western Region sits at the bottom of the group with no points, having not yet played a competitive match.

Group B Standings: Greater Accra Sets the Pace

In Group B, Greater Accra Region leads the standings with 3 points, following their dominant 4-0 win over Upper West Region. Volta Region is in 2nd place, also on 3 points, after their 3-1 victory against Brong Ahafo Region. Brong Ahafo and Upper West follow in 3rd and 4th positions, respectively. Central Region is yet to earn points, as they have not played a competitive match in the tournament so far.

With the standings set after the first round of matches, teams will use the break day on Friday to regroup and strategise ahead of Match Day 2, which resumes on Saturday.

The competition is expected to intensify as each region fights to secure a spot in the next round of the championship.
