The Elite U15 Girls Championship resumes on Wednesday after a day's break to allow the young players to have some rest.

The tournament produced some very interesting games on Monday (the opening day) with the clash between Central Region and Western Region stealing the show, despite that match being an exhibition one.

The matches will resume on Wednesday morning and run through to the evening with some interesting fixtures.

Central Region vs Brong Ahafo Region The Brong Ahafo Region will take on Central Region in the first game of Match Day 2 at 8am. After their 3-1 win over the Volta Region in their first game, the Brong Ahafo Region will be looking for their second win against the Central Region. For Central Region, this will be their first competitive game of the championship and they will be looking at start on a good note. Gifty Agyeiwaa Jnr will be the player to watch in the Brong Aahfo team following her hat trick in their opening game against Volta Region.

Volta Region vs Greater Accra Region After losing their opening game to B.A by 3-1, Volta Region will be coming up against the Greater Accra Region in the second game of Match Day 2. Greater Accra, however, started on a good note in their opening game, winning 1-0 over their Upper West regional counterparts. Greater Accra striker Saidatu Mahmud and defender Latrifatu Musah will be expected to steer their side to another win but Abigail Owusuaa and her charges stand a chance of pulling a surprise.

Upper West Region vs Eastern Region The Upper West Region will take on the Eastern Region in the 3rd game of the day in the 'Reserves' clash. Both teams, on Match Day 2, are on standby in their groups and will be offered the platform to test their reserve players in a non-scoring contest.

Western Region vs Upper East Region Later in the afternoon, Western Region will lock horns with the Upper East Region in the penultimate game of the day. The game will be the first competitive clash for Western Region but it will be the second game of the championship for Upper East Region who drew goalless with Northern Region in their first game.

Northern Region vs Ashanti Region The Northern Region will play as hosts to the Ashanti Region in the final game of the day. Both teams won their opening games. Ashanti Region registered a 2-0 win over Eastern Region in their first game while the Northern Region won 6-5 on penalties against the Upper East Region after their 0-0 stalemate in regulation time.

The games will take another break for the young girls to get some rest to regain their lost energies on Thursday and resume on Friday for the final group games.

The tournament, which forms part of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, aims at talent identification and nurturing young female footballers across Ghana, in line with the GFA's Women’s Football Strategy.
