FIFA TDS: Central Region Claims First Win, Volta Region Stuns Greater Accra on Match Day 2

The second day of the Elite U15 Boys Championship has seen thrilling matches as Central Region earned their first competitive win, while Volta Region delivered an upset against the formidable Greater Accra Region.

Central Region secures first competitive victory over Brong Ahafo Region

In the opening match of the day, Central Region triumphed 2-1 against Brong Ahafo Region, marking their first competitive win in the championship. Central Region's Enoch Lartey opened the scoring but Abdulai Kaminnu equalised for Brong Ahafo Region to push the game into penalty kicks. The Central Region won the penalty shootouts 4-3.

Brong Ahafo Region's Isaac Donkor found the net to reduce the deficit, but it was not enough to overturn Central's lead. Issaka Amadu of Brong Ahafo Region was named the Man of the Match for his outstanding efforts.

Volta Region Stuns Greater Accra with a Late Winner

In the second match of Match Day 2, Volta Region secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Greater Accra Region, in a tightly contested game. The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Forgive Amevor found the back of the net, handing Volta Region a crucial win. Amevor's performance throughout the game earned him the MVP award, as he guided his team to an unexpected triumph over one of the tournament's favourites.

With Central Region and Volta Region emerging victorious on Match Day 2, the competition in the Elite U15 Boys Championship has become even more intense.

In Group A, Western Region will take on Upper East Region while Northern Region take on Ashanti Region later in the day.
